Description

The Undisputed Queen of Aroids Native to the humid rainforests of Colombia, the Anthurium warocqueanum is a legendary species in the rare plant community. The 'Narrow Dark Form' is an exceptionally sought-after variant that takes the Queen's beauty to the next level.

Unlike the standard form, this specific genetic line develops leaves that are dramatically narrower, longer (capable of reaching up to 3-4 feet in the wild!), and possess a much deeper, richer, dark velvety texture.

Dramatic Velvet & Silver Veins As the leaves of the Narrow Dark Form mature, their texture resembles crushed velvet, absorbing light and making the foliage look incredibly dark. This creates a mesmerizing backdrop for the plant's prominent, glowing silver-green venation. Every new leaf emerges as a delicate, coppery-pink blade before hardening off into its regal dark green majesty.

Why You’ll Love the 'Narrow Dark Form':

  • Architectural Drama: Its elongated, pendant-like leaves create an unmatched, cascading vertical silhouette.
  • Luxurious Texture: Deep, dark, light-absorbing velvety foliage that feels and looks incredibly premium.
  • High-Contrast Veining: Crisp, bright silver veins that pop intensely against the dark background.
  • The Ultimate Flex: A true holy-grail plant that elevates any serious aroid collection.

Care Guide for Thriving Growth:

  • Note: The Queen Anthurium is an intermediate-to-advanced care plant. It rewards meticulous care with spectacular growth.
  • 💧 Humidity is Key: This plant demands high humidity to thrive and grow large leaves without crispy edges. Aim for 70% to 85%+ humidity. A greenhouse cabinet, terrarium, or dedicated humidifier is highly recommended.
  • ☀️ Light: Requires bright, indirect light or specialized LED grow lights. Avoid direct sun, which will instantly scorch the delicate velvety leaves and bleach its dark color.
  • 🪴 Soil/Substrate: Must be grown in an extremely airy, chunky aroid mix, pure sphagnum moss, or tree fern fiber. The roots need constant airflow but must never be allowed to dry out completely.
  • 💦 Water: Keep the substrate consistently moist but never soggy. Water when the top inch of the medium feels slightly dry.
  • 🌡️ Environment: Prefers consistent, warm temperatures ($20^\circ\text{C}$ to $29^\circ\text{C}$ / 68°F to 85°F). Avoid cold drafts or sudden temperature drops.

Shipping Policy

Successfully exporting live plants from Indonesia requires strict adherence to international agricultural laws. Our shipping process is designed to ensure legal compliance and the safe arrival of your plants.

1. Order Processing & Phytosanitary Certification

We do not hold plants in stagnant boxes. Your order processing begins the moment your purchase is confirmed.

  • Timeline: Processing takes 4 to 7 business days before dispatch.

  • The Process: We retrieve your plant from our local partner farm, unpot it, meticulously clean the roots, and transition it into sterile sphagnum moss.

  • Legal Export: The plant is then inspected by the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture. The required Phytosanitary Certificate is included completely free of charge with every international order.

2. Carriers & Transit Times

We ship exclusively via premium international couriers to minimize transit stress.

  • Carriers: DHL Express.

  • Estimated Transit: 4 to 8 business days worldwide, once the package leaves our facility.

  • Tracking: You will receive an automated email with tracking information the moment your box is scanned by the courier.

3. Packaging Methodology

To comply with international laws banning the import of foreign soil, all plants must be shipped bare-root.

  • Root Care: Wrapped in lightly moist, sterile sphagnum moss to maintain hydration without inducing rot.

  • Foliage Protection: Cushioned with breathable dacron/cotton to prevent physical damage.

  • Climate Control: Thermal insulation is used in all boxes. For orders shipping to cold climates, we monitor the destination weather and include heat packs free of charge.

4. Customs, Duties, and Import Permits

International buyers act as the legal importer of record.

  • Import Permits: You are strictly responsible for knowing your country's import regulations and securing any required permits prior to ordering (e.g., USA buyers require a USDA APHIS PPQ 587 permit for orders of 13 or more plants).

  • Customs Delays & Seizures: Tropical Aroid is not liable for packages delayed, confiscated, or destroyed by your local customs authority due to a lack of required import permits or unpaid duties.

  • Taxes: Any import taxes, VAT, or customs duties levied by your country are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

5. Transit Damages

While we pack rigorously, transit stress occurs. If your plant arrives critically damaged or Dead on Arrival (DOA), it is covered under our Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG). You must provide an unboxing video within 24 hours of delivery to claim a free replacement plant (buyer is responsible for the shipping cost of the replacement).
