Description

A Cascading Masterpiece of Color The standard Anthurium vittarifolium is already beloved for its elegant, draping strap leaves, but the Tricolor Variegata form is an absolute "unicorn" in the rare plant hobby. This epiphyte (tree-dweller) produces elongated, velvety-smooth leaves that hang downward like living ribbons. The highly unstable and deeply coveted tricolor genetics mean that no two leaves are ever the same, offering a dynamic and jaw-dropping display of high-contrast variegation.

The Tricolor Genetic Expression Unlike standard two-tone variegation, this specific cultivar expresses three distinct color profiles on a single leaf:

  1. Deep Emerald Green: The base color, providing vital chlorophyll.
  2. Creamy White / Albo: Stunning, crisp white sectors and splashes.
  3. Mint / Chartreuse: A delicate, pale yellow-green that acts as a transition color, giving the plant its highly sought-after "tricolor" depth.

Why You’ll Love the Tricolor Vittarifolium:

  • Living Art: The long, slender, cascading leaves create a dramatic vertical silhouette that draws the eye instantly.
  • Incredible Rarity: A top-tier collector's item that is rarely offered to the public.
  • Unique Berries: When pollinated, this plant produces stunning pink to deep purple berries that trail down the flower spike!
  • Space Efficient: Because it grows downward rather than outward, it is surprisingly easy to fit into tight greenhouse or cabinet spaces.

Additional Information

Care Guide for Thriving Growth:

  • ☀️ Light: Requires bright, indirect light to maintain its high-color variegation. If the light is too low, the plant may revert to green; if it gets direct sun, the fragile white sections will burn quickly.
  • 💧 Water: As an epiphyte, it loves water but hates wet feet. Water thoroughly until it runs out the bottom of the pot, then allow the top 2 inches of the substrate to dry before watering again.
  • 🪴 Substrate: Demands an exceptionally airy, chunky aroid mix. A blend of coarse orchid bark, thick perlite, pumice, horticultural charcoal, and a bit of tree fern fiber or sphagnum moss is perfect.
  • 🌡️ Environment: Thrives in warm temperatures (20°C to 29°C) and absolutely requires high humidity (70% to 85%+) to prevent the long leaves from curling or developing crispy edges on the variegated sectors.
  • ✂️ Pro-Tip: Grow this plant in a hanging slotted orchid pot or a cedar slat basket. This mimics its natural tree-dwelling environment, provides massive airflow to the roots, and allows the long leaves to cascade naturally without breaking.

Shipping Policy

Successfully exporting live plants from Indonesia requires strict adherence to international agricultural laws. Our shipping process is designed to ensure legal compliance and the safe arrival of your plants.

1. Order Processing & Phytosanitary Certification

We do not hold plants in stagnant boxes. Your order processing begins the moment your purchase is confirmed.

  • Timeline: Processing takes 4 to 7 business days before dispatch.

  • The Process: We retrieve your plant from our local partner farm, unpot it, meticulously clean the roots, and transition it into sterile sphagnum moss.

  • Legal Export: The plant is then inspected by the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture. The required Phytosanitary Certificate is included completely free of charge with every international order.

2. Carriers & Transit Times

We ship exclusively via premium international couriers to minimize transit stress.

  • Carriers: DHL Express.

  • Estimated Transit: 4 to 8 business days worldwide, once the package leaves our facility.

  • Tracking: You will receive an automated email with tracking information the moment your box is scanned by the courier.

3. Packaging Methodology

To comply with international laws banning the import of foreign soil, all plants must be shipped bare-root.

  • Root Care: Wrapped in lightly moist, sterile sphagnum moss to maintain hydration without inducing rot.

  • Foliage Protection: Cushioned with breathable dacron/cotton to prevent physical damage.

  • Climate Control: Thermal insulation is used in all boxes. For orders shipping to cold climates, we monitor the destination weather and include heat packs free of charge.

4. Customs, Duties, and Import Permits

International buyers act as the legal importer of record.

  • Import Permits: You are strictly responsible for knowing your country's import regulations and securing any required permits prior to ordering (e.g., USA buyers require a USDA APHIS PPQ 587 permit for orders of 13 or more plants).

  • Customs Delays & Seizures: Tropical Aroid is not liable for packages delayed, confiscated, or destroyed by your local customs authority due to a lack of required import permits or unpaid duties.

  • Taxes: Any import taxes, VAT, or customs duties levied by your country are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

5. Transit Damages

While we pack rigorously, transit stress occurs. If your plant arrives critically damaged or Dead on Arrival (DOA), it is covered under our Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG). You must provide an unboxing video within 24 hours of delivery to claim a free replacement plant (buyer is responsible for the shipping cost of the replacement).
